Raymond Dwek

Professor Raymond Allen Dwek FRS (born 10 November 1941) was the founding scientist of the University of Oxford Glycobiology Institute and its spin-off biotech company, Oxford GlycoSciences (acquired by Celltech in 2003).
He was educated at Carmel College, then the University of Manchester where he read Chemistry (1960-64). He then went to Lincoln College, Oxford, where he completed his DPhil in Physical Chemistry in 1966. He is currently a Professorial Fellow of Exeter College, Oxford and heads both the Department of Biochemistry and the Oxford Glycobiology Institute.
