Reference re Agricultural Products Marketing Act (the Egg Reference), [1978] 2 S.C.R. 1198 is a landmark constitutional decision of the Supreme Court of Canada on federal-provincial agreements where the Court unanimously upheld the validity of the Agricultural Marketing Act. The Act was part of a national agricultural marketing scheme agreed upon by both the federal and provincial governments.
After the decision was passed down, the federal and provincial government entered into a similar agreement on a national marketing program for chickens.
