Regina Wender

Regina Wender (March 31, 1913 - July 26, 1997) was the mother of former world chess champion Bobby Fischer. She was an American Jew who worked as a riveter in a defense plant and later became a teacher, nurse and physician. Regina was married to German biophysicist Hans-Gerhardt Fischer, but divorced him in 1945.
