Reginald Owen

Reginald Owen, or John Reginald Owen, (August 5, 1887–November 5, 1972) was a British character actor known for playing in many film roles in British and American movies and later in television programs. He was born in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, England.
Owen studied at Sir Herbert Tree's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and made his professional debut in 1905. He came to the United States in 1920 and worked originally on Broadway in New York City, but later moved to Hollywood, where he began a lengthy film career.
Later in his career, he appeared in Mary Poppins (1964) and Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971).
Owen died in Boise, Idaho.
