The Rev. John Smith, born in Germany, is the exorcist of the International Chaplains Association. Ordained in 1978, he studied exorcism in the early 1980's under the tutelage of the Rev. Win Worley.
Smith says Christian war is not against flesh and blood, but against satan and his demons. He is convinced of the impossibility of the Christian war being won by "closet" sessions and private appointments, in the New Testament, demons were cast out on the streets and in the meetings of the believers with no attempt to hide or conceal what was going on. There is no indication that the events were private affairs. He believes that the only way the Christian war will be won is to arouse the whole body of Christ to march against the demons of this world. In order for exorcists to be raised up and trained, they must witness the manifestations of the demons being cast out thereby learning about the enemy.
Chaplain Smith currently lives in Southeast Asia.
