Revelation (Mother Earth) is a heavy metal song written in 1981 by Ozzy Osbourne, Bob Daisley and the late Randy Rhoads. It is the eighth song on the album “Blizzard of Ozz” and its running time is 6:08. A live version of this song also appears on the 1987 album Tribute.

This song is about the future of the world and its title refers to the last book of the bible, the Book of Revelation. In the first two verses Ozzy pleads to the Earth to forgive the human race for all the fighting and destruction they are causing. In the third and fourth verse Ozzy sings about what the humans are doing wrong and what is happening to the world. In the last two verses Ozzy tells what he has seen to be the future and how we must stop before it’s too late.

One of the highlights is the apocalyptic and evil guitar solo played by Randy Rhoads at the end of the song.
