Reza Qolikhan Hedayat

Rezā Qolikhān Hedāyat (also Reza Gholi Khan Hedayat), known as Lala bashi was a writer and educator of Persia's royal family.
Born in 1800 in Tehran, he studied in Shiraz, Iran and entered the services of Qajarid princes, and was given the title "Amir ush-sho'ara" (Amir of the poets) by Fath Ali Shah during a visit to Shiraz.
He later became assistant to Nasereddin Shah's Minister of Education, and principle of Darolfonoon.
He died from a severe illness in 1871.
He wrote a Divan containing 50,000 distichs and six Mathnavis, among them the Gulistan-i Eram ("The rose garden of Eram", perhaps referring to the royal garden with the same name in Shiraz, Iran), and Tadhkirah: Majma'ul Fusahā ("The meting place of the eloquent"), and Riyādhul Ārefin ("The gardens of the Mystics").
