Dr. Richard L. Pratt, Jr. is an American Reformed theologian and author. He is the president and founder of Third Millennium Ministries and formerly chaired the Old Testament department at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. Pratt transitioned in 2006 from his teaching role at RTS to work full time with Third Millennium Ministries, a move he has anticipated for many years.

Pratt was considered by many to be one of the best classroom teachers at RTS. He considers himself very orthodox in theology, but his interactive and extremely provacative teaching style has caused students to carefully reevaluate their beliefs in ways that bring deeper understanding and sometimes new convictions. He is best known for his approach to Biblical hermeneutics, which places a heavy emphasis on the Kingdom of God.

Education

Dr. Pratt received his B.A. from Roanoke College, studied at Westminster Theological Seminary, and received his M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary. He earned his Th.D. in Old Testament Studies from Harvard University. His thinking was greatly influenced by Cornelius Van Til among others.
