Richardson's ray

Richardson's ray (Bathyraja richardsoni) is a skate of the genus Bathyraja, found in the northeast and northwest Atlantic, and Cook Strait in New Zealand, at depths of from 1,300 to 2,500 metres on the lower parts of the continental shelf. Their length is up to 1.75 metres.
Richardson's ray is a large deepwater ray of diamond shape, with a smooth grey-coloured skin.
Its diet is fishes and shrimps.
A horny egg case is anchored to the bottom by long coiled horns at each corner.
