Right-socialism
Encyclopedia : R : RI : RIG : Right-socialism
Right-socialism may refer to:
- The right-wing (i.e. the most centrist elements) of the socialist movement. See social democracy and Third Way.
- An awkward combination of right-of-center (for example conservative or nationalist) ideas and socialist principles. In this sense, Right-socialism is a type of Syncretic Politics - that is, a political movement which attempts to reconcile seemingly opposed ideological views. Generally, such Right-socialism will be rejected both by the mainstream right (due to its socialist features) and by mainstream socialism (due to its right-wing features). For this reason, Right-socialism is a highly controversial term. It has occasionally been applied to such policies as Socialism in one country.
