Roger Gracie Gomes is the son of Reyla Gracie (daughter of Carlos Gracie) and Mauricio Motta Gomes (one of the 6 BJJ Black Belts of the legendary Rolls Gracie) and part of the legendary Gracie Family .
Roger is one of the most successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Wrestling exponents active today, enjoying an intense rivalry with grapplers such as Xande Ribiero and Ronaldo 'Jacare' de Souza. His most notable achievement to date is winning the prestigious ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship in 2005, taking 1st Place in the 88 - 98kg and Open-weight categories, submitting all 8 opponents, a feat that had not previously been achieved.
Roger is the main instructor at The Roger Gracie Academy which is located in West London, England. His fellow instructors include Felipe Souza and Jude Samuel.
