Rose is a colour that is pink-ish red. British historian John William Burgon famously described the Jordanian city of Petra as having this colour, writing:

Match me such marvel save in Eastern clime,

A rose-red city - half as old as time!

The colour is significant in numerous social and historical contexts. For example, saying that someone has rosy cheeks suggests that they are in good health. To declare that a person is seeing through rose-coloured glasses, on the other hand, implies that they are only seeing the good and neglecting to notice the bad.
