Rosette (botany)
Encyclopedia : R : RO : ROS : Rosette (botany)
In botany, a rosette is a circular arrangement of the leaves, with all the leaves at a single height. Often, perennial plants whose regular foliage dies down to the ground in winter retain a rosette of leaves at the soil's surface.
Many plants in many families have rosettes; they are particularly common in Asteraceae (e.g., dandelions) and Brassicaceae (e.g., cabbage).
