It took place on January 24, 1999 in the Arrowhead Pond located in Anaheim, California.

  • Sunday Night HEAT:Christian pinned Jeff Hardy
  • Sunday Night HEAT:Hardcore Holly and Scorpio beat Too Much(Scott Taylor and Brian Christopher)
  • Sunday Night HEAT:Mankind pinned Mabel
  • "Special Challenge" match: Big Boss Man def. Road Dogg
  • *Big Boss Man pinned Road Dogg after nailing him with the Boss Man Slam. (11:50)
  • **Road Dogg was the reigning WWF Hardcore Champion. However, this was a non-title match and it was not a hardcore match.
  • WWF Intercontinental Championship match: Ken Shamrock (c) def. Billy Gunn
  • *Shamrock maded Gunn submit to the ankle lock to retain the championship. (14:23)
  • **Val Venis interfered and hit a DDT on Shamrock.
  • WWF European Championship match: X-Pac (c) def. Gangrel
  • *X-Pac pinned Gangrel after hitting him with the X-Factor.
  • **Gangrel was supposed to roll through X-Pac's high crossbody but didn't, leading to referee Theodore Long accidentally giving a 3-count on Gangrel. However, the match went on.
  • Strap Match for the WWF Women's Championship: Sable (c) def. Luna Vachon
  • *Sable managed to touch all four corners to retain her championship after a fan attacked Luna. (4:42)
  • **Shane McMahon introduced the competitors.
  • "I Quit" Match for the WWF Championship: The Rock def. Mankind (c)
  • *The Rock won after placing the microphone by Mankind's mouth and letting the words "I quit" (taken from a previous Mankind promo) play out on the speakers. (21:46)
  • **During the match, Rock hits Mankind on the head numerous times with a steel chair.
  • **The Rock and Mankind fought in the crowd, featuring Mankind being knocked off an aisle by The Rock, making him fall into some electrical boxes.
  • **On Beyond the Mat, it is revealed that Mick "Mankind" Foley's family were in attendance viewing the match in horror.
  • Vince McMahon won the 1999 Royal Rumble
  • *The final two participants were Vince McMahon and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. McMahon won when The Rock interfered and distracts Austin, letting McMahon eliminate him from behind. (56:31)
  • **A $100,000 bounty was placed on Austin by Vince McMahon for anyone who would eliminate him.
  • **Vince sneaked out of the ring under the bottom rope, with Austin chasing him afterwards. The two brawled in a bathroom but The Corporation came and attacked Austin. Austin was then taken into an ambulance van.
  • **Prior to the match, Mabel attacked Mosh and took his Royal Rumble spot. Mabel was later kidnapped by the Ministry of Darkness to be brainwashed, making him become Viscera.
  • **As a hearse takes away Mabel, the ambulance van returns with Austin driving it. Austin comes back into the ring and drags Vince back. However, Vince went over to the announcers' table to do commentary.
