Runaway train can mean:
- Runaway train (effect), a train which is unable to stop or be stopped. The usual outcome of a runaway train is a derailment or a collision with another train. For example: in May of 2001 an unmanned locomotive (CSXT SD40-2 8888) and 47 cars ran from Stanley Yard in Ohio and mowed down everything in its path before finally being stopped by a CSX worker.
- Runaway Train (movie), a motion picture released in 1985 starring Jon Voight, Eric Roberts and Rebecca DeMornay.
- Runaway Train (song), a song by Soul Asylum that was a hit in 1993. The song's video featured photos and home footage of children missing at the time of the song's release.
- Runaway Train (band), an Australian country music band.
