The Rural City of Horsham is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the western part of the state. It has an area of 4,239 square kilometres. In 2001 it had a population of 18,000.
This large city has been prominent as the winner of Australia’s tidiest town (in 2001) and the community pride is evident everywhere. The city boasts a vibrant shopping precinct with a wide variety to choose from. It’s coffee shops and restaurants are fast gaining a reputation for variety and quality.
Horsham is the capital of the region and hosts a range of quality major events from sport to cultural interests. Speaking of sport, the Horsham golf course is known as country Victoria’s best, as awarded from the pro-am circuit.
In normal seasons the region boasts many fine lakes and a Wimmera River system and is extremely popular with fishing, boating, swimming and water enthusiasts.
