Russian dressing
Encyclopedia : R : RU : RUS : Russian dressing
Russian dressing is a salad dressing composed of a base of mayonnaise or yogurt with ketchup, horseradish, pimentos, and chives and/or other spices added. The condiment was named when the ingredients typically included caviar, a food often thought of as Russian. It is the principal condiment in a Reuben sandwich, although Thousand Island dressing is sometimes used as a substitute.
