Joining as the final piece to the metal band SOiL and a needed vocalist, Ryan McCombs is famous for his bellowing vocals that match the intensity of his bandmates' heavy guitar riffs. Born in the late 1990s, the success of the band was not immediate but success would finally come in releasing their first CD on a major record label. Called Scars, the name suggests the lyrical content of the songs on the release is not happy, based according to McCombs, off real-life events.
However, the chemistry that the band claimed they had seemingly dissolved when the band parted ways with their long-time vocalist in 2004, soon after releasing their second major CD named re.de.fine. McCombs is now slated to work with their fellow metal band Drowning Pool on their next studio album as the lead vocalist as well as with touring, most notably entertaining troops serving in Iraq. McCombs' contribution to Drowning Pool's next album will make him the third lead vocalist the band has had in its young history. Drowning Pool plans to release their first album in the near future with their new vocalist.
Ryan McCombs is married and has two sons. He lives in Indiana.
