Rye Brook is a village in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 8,602 at the 2000 census.
The Village of Rye Brook was established in 1982 and is in the Town of Rye.
Geography
Rye Brook is located at (41.019767, -73.683419)[Geographic references#1GR1].According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 9.0 km² (3.5 mi²). 9.0 km² (3.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.29% is water.
Demographics
As of the census[Geographic references#2GR2] of 2000, there were 8,602 people, 3,122 households, and 2,435 families residing in the village. The population density was 957.1/km² (2,479.0/mi²). There were 3,224 housing units at an average density of 358.7/km² (929.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 91.96% White, 1.03% African American, 0.21% Native American, 4.25% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.36% from other races, and 1.16% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.44% of the population.There were 3,122 households out of which 37.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.4% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.0% were non-families. 18.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.72 and the average family size was 3.09.
In the village the population was spread out with 25.5% under the age of 18, 3.8% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 17.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 90.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.4 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $98,864, and the median income for a family was $111,287. Males had a median income of $75,712 versus $45,698 for females. The per capita income for the village was $48,617. About 1.8% of families and 2.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.0% of those under age 18 and 1.4% of those age 65 or over.

Government
The village of Rye Brook is made up of a 5-member Board of Trustees, all volunteers. The mayor is Lawrence Rand. All boards of the village are made up of volunteers.Trustees:

The Village uses 5 main parks:
- Pine Ridge Park: Contains 2 little league fields, 4 tennis courts, 2 basketball courts, and a playground. This park is located on the corner of Latonia Drive and Mohegan Lane.
- Garabaldi Park: Has 2 basketball courts, 1 tennis court, a little league field, and a playground. Garibaldi Park stands on Garibaldi Place opposite to the Anthony J. Posillipo Community Center.
- Harkness Park: This park contains 4 tennis courts and is the home of Blind Brook Tennis. Harkness lies next to Blind Brook High School.
- Rye Hills Park: This park, which is next to Crawford Park, has a walking trail, game tables, a basketball court, and a lookout towards the Long Island Sound
- King Street Athletic Field Project: These fields, as of July, 2006, are still under constuction. Ground was broken for the project in the fall of 2005. At the end of constuction, there will be a soccer/football field and a softball field. These fields will stand next to Blind Brook High School on King Street. Parking for the fields will be at the High School and the stairway has already been erected for it.
- Crawford Park is owned by The Town of Rye, though is within Rye Brook's boarders. The park is used for soccer, teeball, and softball by the village.
- Magnolia Park: This park has an open grass field.
- Rich Manor Park: This site is an open field and has views of the Blind Brook.
Schools
Within the village lie two school districts, the Port Chester School District and the Blind Brook School District.Blind Brook High School, the only high school in the Blind Brook School District, ranked 88th in the Newsweek 2006 US High School rankings.
