Søndersø municipality is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Funen County on the island of Funen in central Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 181 km², and has a total population of 11,234 (2005). Its mayor is Erik Hansen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party.

The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Søndersø.

Neighboring municipalities are Odense to the southeast, Otterup to the northeast, Bogense to the north, Ejby to the west, and Aarup and the Vissenbjerg to the southwest.

The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a kommunalreform ("Municipality Reform") that merged a number of existing parishes:

By January 1, 2007 Søndersø municipality will cease to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It will be merged with existing Otterup and Bogense municipalities to form the new Nordfyn municipality. This will create a municipality with an area of 451 km² and a total population of 28,655 (2005). The new municipality will belong to the new Region Syddanmark ("South Denmark Region").
