SEAT Marbella

The SEAT Marbella is a badge-engineered Fiat Panda (1983-1986 model), produced by SEAT in Spain from 1986 until 1998. Previously, the model was called SEAT Panda and was a clone of the Fiat model, but its name and some parts had to be changed because of a broken relationship with Fiat. The Seat model never received the mechanical upgrades applied to Fiat Pandas from 1986.
The differences between a Panda and a Marbella are different design at the front and back of the car (head and tail lights and boot panels).
Mechanically, it borrowed heavily from the Fiat parts bin, using engines and transmissions from the Fiat 127.The motor is a 4 cylinder in line with 40 hp (30 kW) and 903 cc. Very robust, and enough for this light car (about 700 kg). Due to the long history of this motor, these models are said to be almost unbreakable in normal use. .. Several differently labeled models (Marbella L, Marbella Special, Marbella GL, Marbella GLX, etc.) with no change in motor or car details, existed during its lifetime.
The commercial version
A van version of the same car was produced in Spain until the late 90s, called the SEAT Terra. It shared the underpinnings and front of the car, but its back was replaced by a box to carry goods. It was very popular in Spain.
