SMS Sachsen was a Bayern class battleship launched but never completed for service in the German Imperial Navy during World War I.
Sachsen was laid down as the third member of the Bayern class and the 44th battleship of the Imperial Navy. Construction was begun at Germaniawerft on Kiel, and the ship was launched on 21 November 1916. However, construction was never completed, and the ship never joined the first two vessels in service. Ultimately, Sachsen was scrapped at its pier in 1922.
