The Southern Astrophysical Research Telescope (SOAR) is a modern 4.1m optical & near-IR telescope located on Cerro Pachón, Chile, and operated by a consortium including the country of Brazil, Michigan State University, the National Optical Astronomy Observatory, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
