Encyclopedia : S : SQ : SQR : SQR
SQR (from Structured Query Report writer) is a programming language used to create reports from databases where SQL was traditionally used. Peoplesoft, now part of Oracle Corporation, is the main proponent of this language. SQR is similar in concept to SQL. A difference is in syntax.
SQR was created by Sybase and then sold to MITI Corporation. MITI renamed itself to SQRIBE, which was purchased by Brio (now Hyperion).
