SV Wehen is a German football club, located in Taunusstein, Hesse. It was founded in 1926, but was disbanded by the Nazi government in 1933. The club reestablished itself in 1946, following World War II. The club rose slowly but surely through the lower levels of German football and have played in the 3rd division Regionalliga Süd since 1997. The club won the Hessenpokal in 1988, 1996 and 2000, which gave it berths in the German Cup in those years. In 2000, the club made a run all the way to the quarter-finals of the German Cup before losing to Bundesliga giant Borussia Dortmund in overtime. After two consecutive 3rd place finishes in the Regionalliga Süd, fans of the club hope the 2006/07 campaign finally brings promotion for their side.
