Origin

Formed in their hometown of Lansing Illinois in late 2004 by childhood friends Meezy, C-Roe, and Jay Mazin, SWN were destined for greatness.

Breakthrough

SWN's first song was the flop "The Struggle." Hated by all, they decided to never mention the song again. No known copy of the song exists anymore. However, the B-side to "The Struggle" was a song called "Permission Slip," which would become their first single. It quickly grew in popularity, and is still one of their most popular songs.

Suck My Glock

"Suck my Glock," the group's third song, was a nice short song that showed the evolution of the group's sound, vocals, and lyrics. This was also the first song where the group uses dubbing. Jay Mazin short verse at the end of the song is still praised to this day. SWN was here to stay.

Enter Ch'Real

Ch'Real, a childhood acquaintance of Jay Mazin, was asked to join the group by Jay Mazin himself, after the two became friends some 12 years after they first met. Ch'Real was first going to be the group's producer, adding an intro and backround vocals to their 4th song "In the Chest" and helping the other three members with their verses.

However, after Meezy's departure from the group in 2005, Ch'Real became their third member. They also abandoned "In The Chest," but not for long. The three recorded the song "The Ghetto Way," which to this day still remains unfinished, but they released it half finished regardless. It was praised.

In The Chest

Arguably their most popular song, "In The Chest" was finished months after it was started, with Ch'Real doing the final verse. Jay Mazin did something new in this song, adding sound effects throughout the song. There are also two skits in the song, done by Jay Mazin and Ch'Real. At five minutes and four seconds, it is the group's longest song to date and it features Meezy and the band Get Bent! on backround vocals. Along with "Permission Slip," this song is the group's most recognizable song.

Comin Thru

Now 2006, The group's first song of the new yearwould be "Comin Thru," which had the same impact as "In The Chest" did. With a simple beat created by Jay Mazin, and a scarface sample in the middle of the song, this song would be the favorite SWN track of many for the time being.

Dunk on Yo Ass

The group's third single featured Wal-Dough and Meezy and a beat by Dave Bowman.
