SXGA+

Encyclopedia : S : SX : SXG : SXGA+

SXGA+ stands for Super eXtended Graphics Array and is a computer display standard. An SXGA+ display is commonly used on 14 inch or 15 inch laptop LCD screens with a resolution of 1400 × 1050 pixels. SXGA+ displays usually cost more due to their higher resolution. SXGA+ is also the maximum resolution native to many high-end video projectors.

There is a widescreen version of SXGA+ called WSXGA+ with a resolution of 1680 × 1050. This is the native resolution of nearly all 20 and 21 inch wide-aspect LCD monitors, and is also available in laptop displays 15.4 inches or larger.

It is the next real step after SXGA, but it is not approved by any organization. The next resolution after it is UXGA, also known as UGA, which has a resolution of 1600 × 1200 pixels.
