Sabiaceae
Encyclopedia : S : SA : SAB : Sabiaceae
Sabiaceae is the botanical name for a family of flowering plants. Such a family has been recognized by most taxonomists.
The APG II system, of 2003 (unchanged from the APG system, of 1998), also recognizes such a family. It is unplaced as to order and left among the basal lineages of the eudicots.
The family consists of probably three genera, totalling several dozen species, of woody plants: those in the genus Sabia often are lianas, while those in the genera Meliosma and Ophiocaryon are trees and shrubs.
