Sakai (坂井市; -chou) is a city located in Sakai District, Fukui, Japan.
The Town of Sakai
As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 13,082 and a density of 412.68 persons per km². The total area is 31.70 km².On March 20, 2006, the town was merged with the remaining municipalities within Sakai District to form the new city of Sakai and the district dissolved.
