Salonina Matidia

Salonina Matidia (68 - 119) was the daughter of Ulpia Marciana and beloved niece of the Emperor Trajan. Trajan had no children and treated her like his daughter.

Matidia first married Lucius Vibius Sabinus, a man of consular rank. He died after 86. Their daughters were:

Vibia Matidia or Matidia Minor
Vibia Sabina, who married Hadrian

Her second husband was Rupilius Libo Frugi (consul of 88), who died in 101. Their daughters were:

Rupilia Libo (little is known on her)
Rupilia Faustina who married consul Marcus Annius Verus

Their daughter was Faustina the Elder

Rupilia Annia who married Lucius Fundanius Lamia Aelianus (consul of 116 and little is known on the both of them)

In 112, she received the title of Augusta. In 119, Matidia died and the Emperor Hadrian delivered her funeral oration.
