Sandcastle Waterpark

Sandcastle is a water park outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States, located along the bank of the Monongahela River. The park is owned by [Kennywood Entertainment], the same company that runs Kennywood Park, only about five miles away from Sandcastle, and Idlewild Park, which is located in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. The park contains over a dozen water slides, several pools, and a handful of other attractions.
History
Sandcastle's current location in Homestead, Pennsylvania was once used as part of an industrial complex along the Monongehela River. The industrial complex was eventually abandoned, and the remains of the industrial complex was removed. Kennywood Entertainment bought the land, and started construction on the park in 1988, and park opened for business a year later in 1989.Current Attractions
The park has a total of 15 water slides, a "lazy river," one regular pool, one wave pool, a go-kart track, and an area of water slides and water attractions designed specifically for children.Location
The park is located in Homestead, a suburb of Pittsburgh. The water park is located not far from the Waterfront, which has a large number of stores, restaurants, and movie theaters. The park can be easily accessed via Interstate 376, and one Pat Transit bus line runs near the park, but does not run up to it.See also
