Sandcastle Waterworld Blackpool
The Sandcastle Waterworld at South Beach Blackpool in the North West of England is the premier UK waterpark. Opened in 1986 as a joint public /private partnership it has retained an enthusiastic following.
Now home to the World's longest indoor roller coaster ride the Master Blaster and the white knuckle Sidewinder. It has another 4 large waterslides, many smaller ones and a lazy river. A pirate Galleon and Caribean Storm tree house add to the attractions.
Operation of the centre was taken back into Blackpool Council ownership in 2003. Reductions in costs and increases in visitor numbers and spend have followed. A significant investment in new attractions costing £5.5M was also agreed. This was delivered in two phases with the second opening in 2006 on time and on budget.
