Sandip Ray

Sandip Ray (b. 1954) is a cinema director living in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He is the only son of the noted Bengali director Satyajit Ray. In 1977, he started his career in films as the "second unit director" or "Assistant Director" in the film Shatranj Ke Khiladi (The Chess Players) by Ray. His first full length cinema was Phatik Chand (1983).
Sandip Ray is also a noted photographer. He was the director of photography on Satyajit Ray's last three films, Ganashatru (An Enemy of the People, 1988), Shaka Proshaka (The Branches of the Tree, 1991) and Agantuk (The Visitor, 1991).
