Sarah Sze

Sarah Sze (born 1969 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American artist and sculptor based in Boston. She is known in particular for site-specific ephemeral sculptures, in which thousands of small everyday objects are assembled into fragile, sweeping forms. Her work has been exhibited in solo shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, and the Fondation Cartier in Paris, as well as many group exhibits. She has also more recently installed permanent sculptures in the collections of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art. In 2003 she received a MacArthur "genius grant" Fellowship. She is represented by the Marianne Boesky Gallery.
