Satake Yoshinobu

(1570-1633) Satake Yoshinobu, the eldest son of Satake Yoshishige. During the year of 1589, Yoshinobu officially became the head of the Satake clan. During the year of 1590, Yoshinobu joined Toyotomi Hideyoshi, assisting him during the Siege of Odawara. Hideyoshi then confirmed the Satake's holdings in the provinces of Hitachi and Shimosa which was worth some 545,800 koku.

During the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600, Yoshinobu decided to serve under Ishida Mitsunari and later assist Uesugi Kagekatsu, but this event surely did not make much of a difference. Due to Yoshinobu's father interceding the failure of Yoshinobu, Tokugawa Ieyasu only transferred him to Akita (which was in Mutsu Province), along with 200,000 koku. During the Siege of Osaka in 1614 and 1615, Yoshinbou assisted Ieyasu. Then fighting at the Battle of Imafuku on the side of the Tokugawa. It is said that the life of Yoshinobu was a sad one, due to his father having to intercede with many of his problems, and having his wife die at 24.
