Satal Keto
Encyclopedia : S : SA : SAT : Satal Keto
In the Star Wars Expanded Universe, Satal Keto, together with his cousin Aleema, was a founder of the Sith-inspired Krath cult in 3,998 BBY.
The Krath was founded when Keto and his cousin were intrigued enough by a Coruscant museum exhibit of Sith artifacts to steal a tome which they were unable to read. Rumours of Dark side devotees versed in the mysteries of the Sith and able to read the tome led them to Onderon. After flying their ship past a Galactic Republic fleet led by the Jedi Nomi Sunrider, they landed on Onderon. There, they were instructed by Ommin, the former King of Onderon, and the spirit of the Sith Lord Freedon Nadd.
After the Freedon Nadd cultists' defeat in the First Battle of Onderon, the Ketos escaped to the Empress Teta system, where they carried out a successful coup and fought off a task force led by Nomi Sunrider and Ulic Qel-Droma. Soon afterwards, they became wary of Ulic Qel-Droma, and poisoned him. Aleema soon seduced the Jedi - both to the Dark Side, and to herself.
Satal was killed by Ulic Qel-Droma in a fierce lightsaber duel (c. 3,997 BBY), in revenge for the death of his master Arca Jeth at the hands of Krath War Droids, and to prevent Satal from unocvering the truth about Ulic. Ulic Qel-Droma, by then consumed by the dark side, took Satal's place at Aleema's side as the head of the Krath.
Trivia
Satal Keto may have been a distant ancestor of the Clone Wars-era Jedi Serra Keto.References
