Encyclopedia : S : SA : SAU : Sauk Rapids Bridge
Sauk Rapids Bridge is a steel spandrel braced arch bridge that spans the Mississippi River between St. Cloud, Minnesota and Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. It was built in 1942 and was designed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The bridge has three stone piers and a gracefully shaped arch. This bridge crosses the Mississippi River half a mile downstream from the rapids of the Sauk River. At this point, the river is still rough and fast-flowing.
