History

In late 2000, the band Confined, also a metal group from Florida, broke up and four of the five members decided to form Scars Of Life. Before the band had accomplished much, bassist Al Torres decided to leave the band to pursue other ventures. After months of grueling tryouts for the vacant bass slot, the search ended with a close friend of the band, Mike Kennedy joining them. Now that the band had a stable line up they began playing at small venues across Florida gradually building up a reputation, this led to them releasing their first CD, Mute.

In January 2002, Scars of Life's debut CD, "Mute", was independently released to much critical acclaim. The initial response was more than encouraging, with several great reviews being given by local magazines, as well as an impressive amount of airplay on local radio stations. The band's debut disc was honored as the first ever Planet Radio 92.1 CD of the month for March 2002. This was a special honor for Scars of Life, since the CD of the month was picked by the fans.

It was not until 2005 under a new label, Rock Ridge Music, that they released their debut album, entitled What We Reflect. The album has been mainly made up of past songs taken from their EPs and demo CDs. These include the songs Bullet with your Name taken from their debut EP Mute and Lemon taken from Another Tomorrow.

In December 2005, Kyle decided that his interest in music had left him, and so he left the band. After a short intensive search for a new singer, the band teamed up with Footer and renamed themselves Burning Red
