Schoenoplectus

Schoenoplectus (Club-rush [Old World species], Bulrush or Tule [New World species]) is a genus of about 80 species of sedges with a cosmopolitan distribution. The genus is closely related to Scirpus, and included in it by some botanists.

Schoenoplectus lacustris - Common Club-rush. Europe, Asia, Africa.
Schoenoplectus mucronatus. Asia, Australia, Europe.
Schoenoplectus pungens - Sharp Club-rush or Three-square Bulrush. Cosmopolitan.

Note that the name bulrush is also applied to species in the genus Typha.
