Scogui is the short name for the Loughborough Students' Scout and Guide Club. The name Scogui comes from the words SCOut and GUIde rather than an acronym of the club's full name. Scogui's origins have been traced back to 1953 and have been a very active member of the Student Scout and Guide Organisation (SSAGO) in recent times.

Membership

Membership is mainly comprised of students from Loughborough University but is also open to members of associated colleges. Past members are also allowed to continue their membership which allows them to attend events. During term time, the club meets most Tuesday nights with special activities on other days and at weekends. Scogui also attend some events organised by other Scout and Guide clubs.

Mascot

The club's mascot is Scogui Bear who was made by Elizabeth Neat in 1982 and due to age is regarded by many to be a protected, unstealable mascot. Many events are also attended by a Sooty puppet, owned by a member of the club, and has been run over, boiled and probably had many other things done to it.
