- Scotch, an adjective meaning 'of Scotland'
- a scotch block is another name for a chock, a wedge which is placed under a vehicle's wheel to stop it moving
- to scotch is to quash, refute or defeat. This usage is derived entirely from a Shakespeare quotation: We have scotch'd the snake, not killed it (Macbeth; Act 3, Scene ii) which probably should read scorch
- Scotch whisky, a whisky made in Scotland - commonly abbreviated as "Scotch"
- Scotch egg, a boiled egg served wrapped in sausage meat, then dipped in breadcrumbs, and fried
- Scotch pancake, a small, often buttered, sweet pancake served as a teatime dessert
- Scotch Tape, a commercial brand name for a type of adhesive tape made by 3M
- Scotch videotape, is a brand of video cassettes that are guaranteed for life, also made by 3M
