Scottish Division

The Scottish Division is a British Army command, training and administrative apparatus designated for all Scottish infantry regiments. The Scottish Division was formed in 1968 with the union of the Lowland Brigade and Highland Brigade. As of 2006, the Scottish Division is comprised of eight infantry battalions in a single large regiment, the Royal Regiment of Scotland:

- The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland
- The King's Own Scottish Borderers Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland1
- The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland
- The Highlanders 4th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland
- The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders 5th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland
- 52nd Lowland, 6th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland
- 51st Highland, 7th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland)
The Headquarters of the Scottish Division is located at the Edinburgh Castle. It is commanded by a "Colonel Commandant" who normally holds the military rank of Lieutenant General or Major General.
Note 1: : The Royal Scots Battalion and King's Own Scottish Borderers Battalion will amalgamate by September 2006 to form The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland.
