Robert Cunninghame-Graham, a strong supporter of Scottish independence, was the party's only MP, for the Lanarkshire North-West constituency, between his defection from the Liberal Party in 1888 and his defeat in the United Kingdom general election 1892, in the Glasgow Camlachie constituency.
Keir Hardie had also left the Liberal Party in order to help found the Scottish Labour Party.
In 1893 the party dissolved itself into the Independent Labour Party.
This party is not related to the subsequent parties of the same name (see Scottish Labour Party disambiguation page).
