Scrimmage

A scrimmage is a type of practice for a sports team in which the team faces "real game" situations to improve their skills. Normally in this type of practice the team competes against itself.
As a verb, scrimmage means to move from one place to the next. i.e. "Let's scrimmage over to the store for some bread."
