SelecTV is an Australian satellite based subscription TV broadcasting service headed by CEO Jim Blomfield (previously CEO of FOXTEL). In April 2006 the company said it had 2000 customers.The company said that it is focused on providing premium content in comparatively low priced packages to a number of specialised market segments.
The company does not have access to premuim sporting content but instead has focused on broadcasting packages of channels in languages other than English including Spanish, Greek, German, Italian and Vietnamese. In April 2006 it said that it was investigating introducing a 12 channel package of Chinese stations.
The company also offers a GLBT package, Curve TV.
The 20 English channels on SELECTV include Movie One, Movie Two, Movie Extra, Movie Greats, Turner Classic Movies, BBC World, CNN, Cartoon Network, National Geographic Channel, A1, Eurosport, Ovation, Bloomberg TV, MTV, VH1, WineTV, Q Television Network and OUTtv.
SelecTV has also announced that in a few months it will launch several extras packages, channels included in these packages are yet to be announced

An unrelated Subscription TV Service, established in 1976, as a spinoff of the Los Angeles-based Z Channel. In 1983, the service went national via satellite and was later purchased by Starion Entertainment, which eventually dropped the SelecTV branding in the late 1980s and renamed it Starion Premiere Cinema.
