Serbians
Encyclopedia : S : SE : SER : Serbians
Serbians (Serbian: Србијанци or Srbijanci) are people who live in, or come from, Serbia. It includes people of different ethnicities. Serbians should not be confused with Serbs, who are members of an ethnic group present in many different countries.
Serbians include various ethnic groups which live in Serbia: Serbs, Hungarians, Bosniaks, Roma, Albanians, Slovaks, Croats, Romanians, Bulgarians, Montenegrins, and others.
A slightly old-fashioned usage refers to people who are from Central Serbia, and does not cover Vojvodina or Kosovo-Metohia. In this case, it refers mostly to Serbs, and distinguishes Serbs of Central Serbia from those from other regions that were not part of the Principality of Serbia and the Kingdom of Serbia between 1878 and 1912, such as Vojvodina, Montenegro, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Krajina and so on.
