Sevel Nord

Sevel Nord (from Société Européenne de Véhicules Légers) is the name given to a car factory near Valenciennes, France, as the result of a joint-venture between PSA Peugeot Citroën (PSA) and Fiat. It is managed by PSA. Production started in 1994.
There is another factory in Italy called Sevel Sur which assembles the mid-size commercial vehicles of PSA and Fiat.
There are two main versions of the Sevel Nord vehicle range, a large MPV and a light commercial van. The minivan lineup had a major redesign in 2002.
The minivan has been marketed as:
- Citroën Evasion, from 1994 to 2002 when it was replaced by the C8.
- Fiat Ulysse
- Lancia Zeta until 2002, replaced by the Phedra
- Peugeot 806, which became the 807 with the 2002 relaunch.
- Citroën Jumpy (Citroën Dispatch on the UK market)
- Fiat Scudo
- Peugeot Expert.
- The best handling and ride of its contemporaries.
- Good access with two sliding rear doors. The gear lever is mounted on the dashboard and the handbrake is on the driver's left, which opens up a passage between the two front seats.
- Two fixed seats in front, plus three individual removable seats in the middle row, and two individual removable seats or a three-seater bench in the back.
- Launched in March 1994 with a choice of two petrol engines (1.8, 2.0) and two turbo diesel (1.9, 2.1).
- October 1998: restyling of the front grille and rear number plate area.
- January 2000: 2.0 HDi replaces the 2.1 TD.
- July 2000: all petrol engines replaced by the new 2.0 16v 137 horsepower (102 kW). Automatic transmission introduced.
- February 2002: second generation models introduced.
