Sewa

SEWA is the Self-Employed Women's Association of India, a trade union founded in 1972 after a split in the Textile Labour Association. It was founded by civil rights leader Dr. Ela Bhatt.
It seeks to provide financial security for its members, while at the same time campaigning for social change based on Gandhian principles. SEWA is comprised of the unorganized sector of India's economy and its goal is to for full- employment and self- reliance for women.
