Shab-e-Yalda

Shab-e-Yalda is a pagan Iranian holiday which longest night of the year and marks the beginning of winter. Families sleep on the floor and eat fruits and nuts. This holiday occurs on December 21st. It celebrates the birth of Mithra, the Sun god.
