Shahada is a town in the northwest corner of Maharashtra state in India, now in Nandurbār District (formerly in Dhule District).
Several of [North Maharashtra University]'s professors live in Shahada.
[Poojya Sane Guruji] was born in 1923 in a village near Shahada. He worked much to provide education in the area.
There is a [college of engineering] called Poojya Sane Guruji Vidya Prasarak Mandal in Shahada.
In 2000 there were protests in Shahada and Nandurbar about land in the area being submerged by water stored by the Sardar Sarovar dam in the Narmada River valley.
Shahada is one of the 7 Tehsils in the Nandurbar district.It is majorly populated by the following communities:
- Mahars
- Gurjars
- Pawras
- Marathas
- Muslims
- Other Adivasis
